Resident Evil 6: Project Omega is the sequel to Resident Evil 5 and the prequel to Resident Evil 7: Doomsday. This is really in current production by Fourth Crusader Studios (Re4leonscottkennedy), and features an expansion upon the Wesker Children Project and the beginning of what seems like the biggest event in the entire series.

[edit] Story
Resident Evil 6 takes place in an antarctic Umbrella facility, where the Wesker Children Project was last commenced. The player wakes up in a sealed laboratory room with absolutely no memory of anything, not even his name. He picks up a truncheon left lying in the room (which will replace the knife) and smashes his way out of the room. After acquiring a handgun from a nearby corpse, the player soon discovers that a bio-hazardous outbreak has occurred within the facility. Many times the name 'Umbrella' is mentioned, but the player does not know what to think of it. After fighting his way through many vicious enemies, like the Conkers, Dead Ones, and Sentients, the player discovers an audiolog by a doctor named Jordan Freemont. When the name 'Project Omega' is mentioned, a single memory jolts back to the player - he was kidnapped. After fighting various B.O.W.'s, the player chances upon a German Army Officer - Wehrmacht. He claims to be looking for his son, Alf, who was kidnapped for 'The Wesker Children Project'. At the mention of the Wesker Children Project, a flashback of the player struggling with black-garbed men and a mysterious Gray-haired European man saying, "He'll do well enough.", appears. The player begins to suspect a mysterious plot. Wehrmacht offers his help to the player, saying that he has a transport waiting outside the facility, and he'll help the player if the player helps him save Alf. After trekking through a large part of the facility, the player and Wehrmacht battle a large bloodsucking B.O.W., with a humanoid body, deformed and peppered with red blotches, claws, extreme agility, and tentacles. After they beat the creature, Wehrmacht discovers that the creature had mortally wounded Alf, and in his dying form, he rasped out, pointing to the player, "He's next."
Wehrmacht, wrought with grief, orders the player to kill him so that the player can grab the key to the next level. However, the player can also steal it from Wehrmacht, and when the player escapes, Wehrmacht shouts, "Damn you, you gutless bastard! I'll be seeing you in the depths of hell!". Later, the player encounters a dying European man, resembling the man in the flashback, who, at the sight of the player, says, "Omega ... You escaped ... Wesker did this ... to me ... He's not what ... I thought ... he would be ... If you don't kill him ... if you don't kill all of them ... everyone else will end up dead ...", and dies. Next to the man, who is later discovered as Professor Jean La-Rouche, a man who first doubted Project Omega and started the mysterious A. Wesker Project, is an audiotape. Here is the following message:
- "The last words of Professor Jean La-Rouche. *cough* I hope you find this, Omega. I hope you kill the Umbrella bastards behind all this. You face dangers ahead. Alex Wesker, my project ... he turned on me. I trusted him, but you can't trust a B.O.W. and turn your back on them. If you can find Lex, if you can beat him, if you can get him to spit out the truth ... *cough* There isn't time. They're coming for me. Don't let them use you. Don't be another pawn in the game. Please ... *cough*"
- ―Prof. Jean's last Audiolog
Later, the player encounters the legendary Alex Wesker, a giant hulking variant of the Wesker Children Project. In the end, the player finds a rocket launcher lying in the snow and uses this on Alex. Defeated and crumpled, the player forces Alex to tell everything he knows. He says this: "You have made it this far - This is what Umbrella knew would happen. You are nothing but a pawn in this game, but you are the Queen piece in Project Omega. Umbrella knew you would get past me, or I would get past you, and that Doomsday would commence. Face your true destiny, Omega!" Before the player can get him to tell more, Alex dies and a countdown for the destruction of the facility commences. The player barely escapes in time, and the last cutscene features the player being dragged from the snow into a capsule, loaded on a helicopter. In the end, the capsule is seen marked with the Greek letter 'Ω', Omega, with an unknown man saying, "This is only the beginning."
